The exhibition titled "Macarların Tasarımları Türkiye’de", organized as part of the 2024 Hungarian-Turkish Cultural Year, explores the projects carried out and envisioned by Hungarian architects in Turkey, from the late Ottoman period to the early years of the Republic. The exhibition was inaugurated on November 20, 2024, with the participation of Viktor Matis, Hungary's Ambassador to Ankara, and will remain open to visitors until November 30, 2024. Hosted in the foyer of the Büyükakambar Building Conference Hall at Abdullah Gül University's Sümer Campus, the event is free of charge. The exhibition delves into the contributions of Hungarian architects to Turkey during this era, the details of their projects, and their design processes, offering visitors a historical perspective.
"Macarların Tasarımları Türkiye’de" has been organized through the collaboration of several significant institutions and organizations. Hosted by Abdullah Gül University (AGU) and its Faculty of Architecture, with the support of the Kayseri Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey (TMMOB), the exhibition was meticulously prepared following extensive archival research in Turkey, Hungary, Italy, and Germany. Contributions to the exhibition include representatives from Yıldız Technical University, the Department of Architectural History and Conservation of Historic Monuments at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, the Liszt Institute-Hungarian Cultural Center, the Gül Baba Heritage Preservation Foundation, and the Turkish Architecture Research Center. The efforts of Prof. Dr. Nur Urfalıoğlu, Assistant Prof. Dr. Zafer Sağdıç, Mehmet Emin Yılmaz, Orkun Dayıoğlu, Dr. Péter Rabb, Dr. Gábor Fodor, and Dr. Gergő Máté Kovács were pivotal to its success.
